"Van Dijken Elektronica" contracted Blue Melon to buid a prototype pager for the new Dutch emergency messaging system (used by fire fighters). Thanks to an efficient DSP algorithm it was possible to implement the message decoding in a low cost Atmel RISC processor. Besides a LCD display with complete GUI the pager was fitted with an USB port with which the received messages can be delivered to Blue Melon's Java Eclipse application as well.
