In cooperation with TCNN (Technologie Centrum Noord Nederland) Blue Melon developed the controller of an advanced recumbent bike. The bike is fitted with a paddle assist system which allows the user to decide how much power is applied to the motor. The bike's energy source consists of a 48 Volts battery of which the capacity is monitored by our hardware. The controller hardware manages the bike's speed and lights. The controller measures signals from a number of different sensors such as anti-theft, temperature and lamp failure. A third module consists of a large colour display on which the user can view information such as speed, GPS, battery state, etc. The modules are connected through a CAN network.
