Blue Melon designed a productconcept consisting of a CNC mill and control electronics. The objective was to offer a plug & play CNC mill for use by hobbyists. Among others a steppermotor controller (BlueStep) and power supply (BluePower) were developed. An essential requirement of the product was its user friendlyness: earlier existing products needed a manual calibration. The BlueStep system is completely configured in software from an easy to use GTK/C Windows application. The generic hardware makes it possible to add new steppermotor drivers without having to change the driver's software.
