Blue Melon v.o.f. overgenomen door eMbed Engineering B.V.

Blue Melon gaat samen verder met eMbed Engineering onder de vlag van eMbed Engineering! Met het samenvoegen van beide bedrijven is een stabiele en slagvaardige organisatie ontstaan die flexibel is en garant staat voor kwalitatief hoogwaardige producten. Ons uitgangspunt hierbij is dat we u nu nog beter van dienst kunnen zijn in het ontwikkelen van elektronica. Het samenvoegen van beide bedrijven heeft ook geleidt tot een uitbreiding van het portfolio en een enorme toename van competenties. Competenties die uiteen lopen van hardwareontwikkeling op chipniveau, tot higher level embedded software op basis van embedded Linux met internet connectiviteit. Hierdoor zijn we in staat om met parate kennis de meest uiteenlopende projecten in korte tijd tot een succes maken.

Products/BlueSense wireless setup in 10 minutes

This guide explains how to get an analogue input connected wirelessly to your PC. Make sure you take the steps in the order as they appear in this document to ensure a successful setup of your BlueSense network.


Connect the BM7502 Bluesense USB wireless router with the PC

  • Connect the USB cable with the PC:

  • Connect the USB cable with the module:

Connect the BM7003 Bluesense analogue inputs (or any other slave module) with the BM7503 Bluesense wireless receiver router

  • Connect a flatcable with the BM7503 Bluesense wireless receiver router, make sure the marked red wire is on the side of the 1 (one):

  • Connect the other side of the flatcable with the BM7003 Bluesense analogue inputs, again make sure the marked red wire is on the side of the 1 (one):

Mount a force sensor to the BM7003 Bluesense analogue inputs

  • First connect a resistor of 5k6 (5600 ohms) between the screw terminal marked with - (minus) and one of the inputs marked with 1 through 6:

  • Next connect a force sensor with the same input (1 through 6) as the resistor and the other side to the screw terminal marked with + (plus):

Mount an adaptor to the BM7503 Bluesense wireless receiver router

  • Connect the power adaptor with the module, screw the positive (marked) wire into the screw terminal marked with a + sign:

  • This is what it looks like after mounting the wires into the screw terminal:

  • Connect the power adaptor with the wall outlet:

Setup a connection between the wireless BlueSense parts and the wired (USB) part of the BlueSense network

  • First press the button on the BM7502 Bluesense USB wireless router:

  • You will se the red LED turn on:

  • Next press this button on the BM7503 Bluesense wireless receiver router:

  • Directly after pressing the button the red LEDs on both boards should blink a bit to indicate successful connection (not perfectly visible on the photo):

Hardware setup done!

The hardware of the BlueSense network is now setup successfully, you can now continue installing the software, install the USB driver and startup Max MSP. Installing the software and USB driver is not discussed in this document, look here for more information:


Setup the analogue input example in Max/MSP

  • Startup Max/MSP:

  • Load the analogue input example:

  • Increase the 0 value to about 10:

  • Turn on the metro:

  • Double click the master device to scan the network:

  • Write down the identifier which belongs to the anologue input:

  • Close the window, go into edit mode using ctrl-E and enter the identifier into the analogue input:

  • Go back to view mode using ctrl-E:

  • Press the pressure sensor a bit and you should see the values which corresponds to the input change:
