Connecting

Connect the ethernet router with a power adaptor. Now connect an UTP cable. The other end should be connected to your router. You should use a normal UTP cable (not a crossover!). If all is connected well a green LED will indicate that the ethernet connection is established.

Configuring

The default username and password are respectively "admin" and "admin". To change this you will have to access the internal website of the BM7504. First you will need to have the IP address that was obtained by the BM7504. The BlueSense ethernet router uses TCP/IP to communicate with the PC running your BlueSense application. The BM7504 module automatically retrieves its IP address via DHCP from your internet router. To find out this IP address, logon to the webinterface of the router. Most routers have a 'show status' or 'show DHCP clients table' option which you can use to find out which IP address has been assigned to the BM7504. Next open the webinterface of the BM7504 by typing http://ipaddress in the browser window (replace ipaddress with the ip address of the BM7504). You are presented a webinterface in which you can configure the username and password.

To connect the BlueSense object in your programming language with the BM7504 you will have to enter the IP address, username and password.

Intranet

When connecting from the same network, instead of using the IP address you can also use the module's ID (see the label on your BM7504). The Bluesense software will find out the IP adress automatically from the ID. For this to work your BM7504 must be on the same subnet as the computer running the BlueSense software. In most home network setups all computers connected will be in the same subnet.

Internet

To connect over the internet, but behind a router or firewall you will have to add a static route into the NAT or routing table of your internet router. The BM7504 uses TCP port 54321 to communicate. Having TCP port 54321 of your public IP address routed to the local IP address at TCP port 54321 of your BM7504 should allow remote access. When connecting you will have to use your public IP address.

BlueSense software

Depending on the BlueSense software you use (Max, Processing, C, etc.) there are additional steps to access the ethernet router.
